Pakora

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Avani Fresh Besan(gram flour)
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1 cup sliced vegetables ( Carrots sliced Potatoes sliced Onions sliced Bell Pepper sliced )
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the gram flour, rice flour, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and baking soda.
  • Add the cold water and ice water, stirring until the batter is thick.
  • Add the sliced vegetables and stir to combine.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Drop slices of vegetables covered in batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the pakoras from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with your favorite chutney.

Tips

  • For crispier pakoras, use ice water when making the batter.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying the pakoras, or they will not cook evenly.
  • Serve hot with your favorite chutney.
